La Brea Season 2: Most TV shows have plot holes, but La Brea might be the only one where they’re the plot. As in sinkholes. You’ll be sent back in time to 10,000 B.C. The bonkers series is back!
Tuesday, September 27, marks the premiere of NBC’s hit drama’s second season, which will be marked by a major shakeup before we even find out what everyone has been up to since we last saw them. Our cast members discussed the new challenges awaiting the survivors, including matters of the heart, ahead of the premiere.
According to Chiké Okonkwo, the budding romance in Season 2 will lead to many things. Ty, a terminally ill character, has developed feelings for Tonantzin Carmello’s outsider, Paara. A saying goes, “Love never runs smoothly.” Eve (Natalie Zea) and Levi (Nicholas Gonzalez)’s situation will be further complicated by the arrival of Gavin (Eoin Macken), her estranged husband (and Levi’s best bud), who jumped into the past with her daughter Izzy (Zyra Gorecki) at the end of last season.
Macken relishes the opportunity to work with Nick and Natalie this year, after spending last year away from Eve and Josh (Jack Martin) in modern-day LA. There are still some old issues that need to be resolved despite the reunion of sorts that allows the show “to kind of expand upon the relationships” among several characters. Gorecki notes that Gavin’s link to this old world is one of the most important. The fact that he was having visions is still unclear to them.”
There’s no time to waste, because Eve and the other members of the group at the clearing are about to encounter the last-and worst-of prehistoric threats.
